ABOUT ME

Hannah Donnelly is a flutist and educator based in White Plains, NY, known for her dynamic performances and dedication to contemporary music. Passionate about championing new works, she has premiered over 15 compositions by noted composers such as Marc Mellits, Sarah Kirkland Snider, David Biedenbender and So Percussion's Jason Treuting with Grand Valley State University New Music Ensemble (GVSU NME), New York University Contemporary Music Ensemble and the New York University New Music Ensemble.

During her time with the GVSU NME, Hannah was a part of several commissioning, recording and touring projects. Her plaiying can be heard on the albums RETURN (2017) and Dawn Chorus (2020) that the ensemble released through Innova Records. Hannah also toured extensively with the ensemble across the Midwest and twice through a unique concert series in U.S National Parks. In 2017, she performed with the group headlining at the New Music Gathering. While pursuing her master's degree at NYU, Hannah performed with the NYU New Music Ensemble at the International Computer Music Conference/New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival in 2019.

An experienced and versatile educator, Hannah has taught private lessons both in her own studio and as an Adjunct Instructor at NYU. She has also led group instruction through programs such as the Harmony Program and taught at marching band camps, bringing her passion for music to a wide range of students.

Currently, Hannah performs regularly with a variety of ensembles throughout NYC including Richmond County Orchestra, Litha Symphony, Press Start Orchestra, Jackson Heights Orchestra, The Chelsea Symphony and Utopia Opera.

She holds her Bachelor of Music degree from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Music degree from New York University. Her primary teachers are Christopher Kantner and Robert Dick.
